Health Promotion
Health promotion is the process of helping people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. Health promotion is not just about healthy lifestyles. Many people in our society have higher rates of disease, report more ill-health and suffer an early death because of social disadvantage or economic hardship.
MonashLink believes strongly in the value of health promotion to help reduce these inequalities. We work with other organisations and in partnership with our local community to create supportive environments for health, develop policy, advocate for change and develop people's ability to improve their own health in ways that matter to them.
Our health promotion plan for the next three years is focusing on the following issues:
- Promoting accessible and nutritious food
- Promoting mental health and wellbeing
If you would like a copy of this plan or information about any of our current health promotion programs, please ring 1300 552 509 and ask to speak to the Health Promotion Coordinator.
