diabetes education


Diabetes is a condition that affects half a million Australians and it is our fastest growing chronic disease. Education and lifestyle changes are key elements in the management of this condition.

The diabetes educator is available to provide information and advice on monitoring blood glucose levels, minimising complications, self management and managing lifestyle changes.

This service is beneficial whether the diabetes has been recently diagnosed or present for several years. Education is also helpful in the case of impaired glucose tolerance.

A two hour group session which provides an overview of diabetes is conducted monthly. “Living Well with Diabetes” is for people with diabetes and their partners to learn about Diabetes. It also provides links to other diabetes focussed groups at MonashLink Community Health Service.
