physiotherapy


Monashlink provide physiotherapy services to all persons who live, work or study in the city of Monash. There are four physiotherapists who work over three sites: Hughesdale, Ashwood and Glen Waverley.

Physiotherapy is suitable for all types of people: young, elderly, able-bodied or disabled. Anyone who suffers from the following conditions may benefit from physiotherapy:

• neck or back pain
• general aches
• arthritis
• fractured bones
• muscle strains or ligament sprains
• rehabilitation after hip or knee replacement
• rehabilitation following surgery
• balance difficulties/falls
• other joint pain eg. Shoulder, elbow, ankle etc
• walking difficulties
• muscle weakness
• neurological conditions such as recent strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinsons Disease.

We also offer the following services and groups:

• Prescription of walking aids eg. Sticks, walking frames
• Strength Training classes
• Hydrotherapy classes
• Falls and Balance classes
• Gentle Exercise classes
• Tai Chi classes
• Back Care classes.

All clients wishing to attend any of the above group classes must be assessed by a physiotherapist for suitability.

A doctor may refer you to physiotherapy however this is not essential. If you feel you may benefit from physiotherapy you may refer yourself. You can do this by telephoning 9568 2599 and asking for the Intake Officer.
